Hotel Lighter Quay formerly known as Hotel Viaduct Harbour formerly known as Westin Lighter Quay - Queen Room

If you're up for a night out in an auckland hotel, take advantage of the standoff between Lighter Quay owner occupiers  and the Westin hotels appointed receiver. 

The investors had taken back their units and were operating under the name of Hotel Viaduct Harbour (and were offering rooms for $99) but have now appointed Accor hotels to manage the whole thing.   

The new hotel is called Hotel Lighter Quay and although currently the public areas ie restaurant, pool,spa and bar are undergoing refurbishment, there is a guest lounge offering continental breakfast.

For the location though, there are plenty of options to cover dining, you'll have to wait till early 2012 before the tepid baths reopen, instead go to servilles spa at shed 20 for a bit of pampering.....
